The UK Government has announced it is leaving the EU on 31st October 2019. https://www.gov.uk/brexit
AutoRIM has been working to ensure that Brexit will have minimal impact on our supply chain;
- AutoRIM has many years of experience in importing and exporting to the rest of the world and has worked closely with logistic partners to spread potential disruption risk across a number of UK ports and minimise cross border movements around 31st October 2019. Our logistic partners are appointed as custom agents and registered to clear inbound goods using the Company’s duty deferment facility.
- AutoRIM has purchased additional inventory and some customers have taken the opportunity to order ringfenced stock.
- AutoRIM has held a UK EORI for a number of years as part of our standard trading arrangements and we are registered and cleared for use of Transitional Simplified Procedures by HMRC.
- AutoRIM has in house regulatory expertise prepared for and actively managing the new compliance regimes to ensure continuity of business. We have held discussions with suppliers to ensure business is not disrupted. These discussions have included, where necessary, revision of Incoterms to avoid fiscal issues that may otherwise occur after a hard Brexit.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact AutoRIM. We can’t predict the outcome of Brexit but we can promise we will do our best to help.
